NCOLC: Dedicated to the Healing of Land and People. The North Central Ohio Land Conservancy Inc. is committed to protecting the natural heritage of the North Central Ohio area. We protect land that is botanically significant using conservation easements and then dedicates the land as a nature preserve. Our preserves feature forests, prairies, waterfalls, rare species and other natural wonders. Much of the land we manage has well-maintained hiking trails that are open to the public.

Hungry to Learn? Or Just Hungry? The Student Emergency Fund and On-Campus Food Pantry serve as the first response measure for students in crisis. Once the immediate need is addressed, then faculty and staff work jointly to provide support to students—counseling, financial planning, assistance in finding work, or reaching out to social services.

The Ohio Bird Sanctuary is a 90-acre preserve located on the headwaters of the Clear Fork Reservoir. The Sanctuary is a resource for the local community and all of Ohio residents to seek care for injured and orphaned birds of prey and songbirds

Altrusa is an international organization (founded in 1917) of business and professional leaders who volunteer their energies and expertise in projects dedicated to the betterment of their community. Membership in Altrusa International, Inc. is an honor and granted by invitation only from a club based in the local community. Locally there are 48 members.

Hello, my name is Andi King and I am the director of Youth For Christ of Richland County. I work with the juvenile justice ministry and reach out to kids who are incarcerated or who have been involved in the court system. This is such a beautiful ministry. Our group of volunteers goes into facilities to reach out to kids in extremely tough circumstances at home, school, community and neighborhoods.

It is the catalyst to fulfill and create public demand, increase foot traffic and investment, strengthen DMI and enhance the entrepreneurial experiences of both traditional businesses and emerging local artisans. The Brickyard is more then a stage, it’s a self-sustaining, dynamic outdoor performance space suitable for arts, entertainment, weddings, meetings, and community gatherings.

The Mansfield Aviation Club (MAC), established in 1949, is pleased to announce that it has been designated as a 501 c (3) organization and is now able to fulfill a key part of its purpose, that being to provide aviation scholarships for others to learn to fly.

On October 11, humane agents of the Humane Society of Richland County responded to a report of a neglected dog at a residence in Mansfield. Upon arrival, they found a young, emaciated mixed-breed female dog living outside in a small kennel filled with urine and feces. Situations like this are common. The Humane Society of Richland County handles an average of 1,000 cases of neglect and abuse annually.

Incentives offered during Richland Gives
Thanks to the generosity of donors at the Richland County Foundation, incentives will be awarded as grants to nonprofit organizations participating in Richland Gives, beyond what they raised from online donations.

The Richland County Foundation offers Charitable Gift Annuities to donors as one option to help them fulfill their charitable intentions.
Nonprofits can sign up for Richland Gives
Registration is open to Richland County nonprofit organizations for Richland Gives, a day of giving, hosted by the Richland County Foundation. It is free but nonprofits must register each year to participate via RichlandGives.org. Registration will close October 30.
Connections Looks to the Future of Philanthropy
The Connections Fund at the Richland County Foundation was established in 2004. Its mission is to foster and retain young leaders while promoting a philanthropic identity and involvement in Richland County. The Fund was born out of a desire to engage young people in philanthropy.
Making Strides on a 5-Year Economic Development Strategy
The Richland County Foundation Board of Trustees recently approved funding for economic development projects. Foundation President Brady Groves said “Richland County is at a pivotal point in its economic evolution. The groundwork has been laid, key people have been hired, organizations are working together and we are now poised to make significant strides.”
