#RichlandGives Spotlight: What if we all gave today?
By Maura TeynorNovember 28, 2017
The opportunity is today during Richland Gives. Our local day of giving coincides with the international day of giving, #GivingTuesday.
Richland Gives is designed to encourage people to contribute to local nonprofits they care about through a single giving platform/website. The Richland County Foundation sponsors the day to build capacity, grow philanthropy and make the community stronger.
The day of giving allows local organizations to raise funds and awareness as well as cultivate new donors and reinvigorate lapsed donors.
Each organization has an individualized web page to promote their cause.
The success of the event will depend on our collective enthusiasm and implementation.
The Richland County Foundation will co-host two events today as a way to boost donations and excitement for Richland Gives.
The first event is a Nonprofit Showcase/Food Truck Rally from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the Ohio State University-Mansfield North Central State College Campus in front of the Recreation Center. Panchos Tacos and Simple Fire Pizza will be the featured food trucks. Nonprofit organizations will set up tables in the Recreation Center to engage and inform students, faculty, and staff about their missions. The Mansfield Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs will hold a joint weekly meeting during the Nonprofit Showcase.
Later today, a Leader Board Watch Party will be held at the Phoenix Brewing Company from 5 to 7 p.m. Incentives will be offered to nonprofit organizations in attendance to encourage donors to give through 7 p.m.
