Richland Gives Raises over $316,000

Richland Gives, an online giving event hosted by the Richland County Foundation, raised $316,049 for 92 Richland County nonprofit organizations. Since its inception in 2015, Richland Gives has raised $1,041,049.

Richland Gives is designed to encourage people to contribute to local nonprofits they care about through a single giving website. The foundation hosted the day to build capacity, grow philanthropy and make the community stronger. It allows local organizations to raise funds and awareness as well as cultivate new donors and reinvigorate lapsed donors.

The Foundation awarded $43,500 in grants as incentives during the giving event. The nonprofit organizations that raised the most in the small nonprofit category and the large nonprofit category were awarded $3,000, for first place, $1,500 for second place and $500 for third place. 

The winners in the small nonprofit category with annual budgets under $250,000 were:  

1st Lucas Community Center raised online $27,355, awarded a $3,000 grant  
2nd North Central State College Foundation raised online $9,325, awarded a $1,500 grant
3rd Ohio Bird Sanctuary raised online $8,545, awarded a $500 grant

The winners of the large nonprofit category with annual budgets over $250,000 were:

1st Richland Academy of the Arts raised online $25,855, awarded a $3,000 grant
2nd Renaissance Performing Arts raised online $17,660, awarded a $1,500 grant
3rd Discovery School raised online $14,750, awarded a $500 grant

These following 25 organizations were the first to raise $1,000 online and were awarded a $1,000 matching grant. Listed in the order of achieving the goal.

$500 grants were awarded to the first five nonprofit organizations that raised at least $500 during Richland Gives in 2018 and increased donations this year by at least 30%: NAMI, Friends of Gorman Nature Center, Mansfield-Richland Area Educational Foundation, Malabar Farm Foundation, and Richland Pregnancy Services.

The organizations awarded $500 grants for raising the most money during the Golden Ticket hours were: two tickets to Richland Academy of the Arts, and one ticket to the following organizations; Lucas Community Center, Discovery School, Little Buckeye Children’s Museum and Friendly House.

Six $500 matching grants were awarded during the Leader Board Watch Party: Ohio Genealogical Society, Ohio Bird Sanctuary, Triple 777 Ranch & Equine Rehab Facility, Richland Pregnancy Services, Harmony House and Discovery School.
