What Is an Agency Fund?

Secure your organization’s financial future.

Agency Funds at the Richland County Foundation provide nonprofit organizations with professional investment management for endowments and operating reserves, allowing you to focus less on financial administration and more on fulfilling your mission.

When you establish an Agency Fund with the Richland County Foundation, your organization benefits from:

  • Professional Investment Management – Your funds are pooled with all the Richland County Foundation assets, providing access to sophisticated investment strategies typically unavailable to smaller organizations
  • Administrative Efficiency – We handle all financial reporting, record-keeping, and investment oversight
  • Donor Confidence – This allows your organization to demonstrate fiscal responsibility and long-term planning to your supporters
  • Regular Income – Your organization can receive consistent distributions to support your operations or specific programs
  • Online Portal Access – You can conveniently view fund activity, request a distribution, and access fund statements

Endowed Funds

  • Permanent funds designed to preserve principal while providing ongoing support
  • Only the “spendable amount” is available for annual distribution
  • Ideal for organizations planning for long-term sustainability
  • Minimum fund balance: $10,000

Managing Your Fund

Through our online donor portal, your authorized representatives can:

  • View real-time fund balances and activity
  • Request a grant distribution
  • Access quarterly fund statements
  • Update organizational contacts

Getting Started

Establishing an agency fund at the Richland County Foundation is a straightforward process. Our team will guide you through each step and help determine which fund type best suits your organization’s needs and goals.

To inquire about opening a fund please contact Chief Advancement Officer Maura Teynor at 419-525-3020.

Note: Opening an agency fund does not increase the likelihood that a nonprofit organization will receive grants from Richland County Foundation funds, and nonprofits are not required to have an agency fund to receive grants from the Foundation.
