Women's Fund Grants Awarded

2007 Women's Fund Grant Awards

The Center for Individual and Family Services The Women’s Group - Program to give female clients of the Center the opportunity to try new activities, learn new skills, and meet a variety of people.

 

Community Health Access Project (CHAP) Early Infant Assistance Boost Program - Friends of CHAP Auxiliary’s program to provide mothers with infant car seats as required by state regulations in order to take their new babies home from the hospital.

 

Independent Living Center of North Central Ohio A Hand Up in place of a Hand-Out - Program for women with disabilities and low or fixed incomes to learn basic sewing, crocheting, knitting, and quilting skills which may result in marketable skills, increased self-esteem and productive citizenship.

 

Parent Aide Program Family Meeting Night: Toolbox Parenting Series - Program provides “tools” for parents to increase their child management skills through role-play, visualization and education.  Tools are introduced at monthly family evening events.

The Center for Individual & Family Services, for “Beauty from Within – Self Esteem Group” an eight week program for adolescent girls.

Community Health Access Project (CHAP), for “Community Baby Shower,” to provide publicity materials to add 21 new churches.

Culliver Reading Center, for “Women Standing Together,” a program for adolescent girls and their parents or guardians.

Girl Scouts of Heritage Trails Council, for “Uniquely Me! Inside and Out!” Second year of a two-part pilot program for at-risk teen girls.

Mansfield Department of Regional Community Advancement, for “Circle of Friends Body & Soul,” a program to teach middle school girls healthy eating and good health habits to empower them to live healthier lives.

Parent Aide Program, for “Family Meeting Night,” a program to build parenting skills and family communication in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.
