Headlines Linda Smith passes the gavel to Tom Depler RICHLAND COUNTY FOUNDATION HOLDS ITS 63rd ANNUAL MEETING Foundation Members Elect Trustees, Officers, and Review 2007 Richland County Foundation held its 63rd Annual Meeting on Monday, May 5, 2008, at the Holiday Inn, Mansfield In attendance were100 members. Linda H. Smith, Chair of the Board of Trustees, presided over the meeting. Six members were re-elected for an additional 3-year terms on the Board of Trustees including Dr. Tom Croghan, Sid Foltz, John Kastelic, Cynthia B. O’Neal, Sharlene Neumann, and Dick Walters. Three new trustees were elected for their first terms on the Board: New trustees include Sydney Rountree, Cathy Stimpert, and Sam VanCura. Serving as officers of the Board for 2008-09 are Tom Depler–Chair, Sid Foltz–Chair Elect, Charma Behnke–Treasurer, and Don Mitchell– Secretary. Linda H. Smith, Board Chair for the past two years, turned the gavel over to Tom Depler. Linda was recognized for her leadership of the Board in creating a new strategic plan for the Foundation. Highlights from 2007 were presented by Chair, Smith, Charma Behnke, John Kastelic, Jason Murray, and President Pam Siegenthaler presented highlights from 2007. Jason Murray reported that the Foundation received 864 gifts totaling $6.3 million, the largest dollar amount in the history of the Foundation. Two large gifts were designated to support youth and education. Retiring trustees Don Edwards, Carol Payton, and Cliff Schutjer, past chair, were recognized for their service to the Foundation. Trustees of the Foundation serve without compensation and are limited to three terms on the Board of Trustees.
