Richland County Foundation Accepts Major Gift

Richland County Foundation is receiving a $23.5 million gift from The Fran and Warren Rupp Foundation.  The majority of this amount is funding The Fran and Warren Rupp Fund of Richland County Foundation, a donor advised fund.

We are grateful for the Fran and Warren Rupp Foundation’s substantial gift, which will help extend the legacy of Fran and Warren Rupp, who both had a long philanthropic history here in our county, and we appreciate the Foundation’s confidence in the Richland County Foundation’s work with the local nonprofit business community. With this gift, the family trustees of the Foundation have indicated that Fran and Warren Rupp would be pleased that the assets are remaining in the Richland County community and being administered by the Richland County Foundation, which is intricately involved in and understands the charitable needs of the local community.

“Richland County Foundation is the largest private source of grants in Richland County and has the expertise to handle this gift as we handle each and every gift that comes to us. With this gift, Richland County Foundation has an asset base of $112 million and over 315 component funds. This gift is the single largest gift in Richland County Foundation’s history,” said Michael Bennett, Chair of the Board of Trustees.
