Richland County Foundation Grants $185,000
The Richland County Foundation Board of Trustees at their regular June meeting approved grants totaling $185,308. Grants were awarded from unrestricted and field of interest funds to meet emerging needs in Richland County.
Lexington Local Schools was awarded $25,308 for a Playground for All project. Grant dollars will be used to purchase special playground equipment for children in wheelchairs. Granted from the Leona M. Miles Fund.
Ohio Bird Sanctuary received a $1 for every $2 raised matching grant for the three – year Visitor Center Renovation Capital Campaign, up to $100,000. Granted from Roger A. and Elizabeth Thomas Black Fund & Mary Mead Sturges and Robert Sturges Memorial Fund.
Salvation Army received $60,000 for emergency rent/mortgage, utility and food assistance to individuals and families under the age of 60. Granted from multiple funds.
