Richland County Foundation Grants up to $76,000 to Support Community Programs

Friday, February 18, 2011 – The Richland County Foundation Board of Trustees at their regular February meeting approved grants totaling up to $76,000. Grants were awarded from unrestricted and field of interest funds to meet emerging needs in Richland County.

Mansfield Area Y received $26,000 for a pilot program that would hire a Coordinator for Senior Citizen Programming to expand senior services in conjunction with the Silver Sneaker’s program. Granted from the Katharine C. Bristor Fund and the Charles R. Underhill Fund.

Richland Community Development Group – Pilot Project will receive up to $50,000 to implement Phase II of a pilot project to coordinate a county-wide collaborative effort for both economic and community development. The grant will provide a $1 for $1 match to raise funds to support a structured and sustainable organization. Granted from the Paul R. Tappan Fund.
