City Pools open for the summer with the generous support of local donors . . .
On June 19, the Mansfield City Pools opened for the summer season thanks to $97,500 in donations. For the second year in a row, local businesses and citizens spearheaded the effort to assure that the pools would be open when the city’s budget fell short to cover the costs.
Local businesses contributed $20,000. Grants from donor advised funds at the Foundation totaled $69,500. An additional grant of $10,500 from the Richland County Foundation Community Endowment provided the final dollars directed to repair the cement in the pool at Liberty Park.
