Richland County Foundation Grants $118,150
Grants support emergency needs, human services, and community projects
The Richland County Foundation Board of Trustees at their regular April meeting approved grants totaling $118,150. This includes several grants to support an increase in local need for emergency and human services.
The Center for Individual & Family Services received a grant of $1,650 to help fund a board retreat as they integrate services with The Rehab Center. Granted from the Marion Draffan Wisdom Fund.
The Center for Individual & Family Services for Assistance for the Mentally Ill, received a grant of $7,000 to cover expenses associated with setting up housekeeping for individuals who are mentally ill and are trying to establish a stable lifestyle. Granted from the Heloise H. Tappan Memorial Fund.
Mt. Hope Lutheran Church for Plymouth-Shiloh Food Pantry, received a grant of $5,000 to help purchase food for the pantry. Granted from the Mary S. Wilsdon Fund.
Shelby High School Alumni Association for received a grant of $4,000 to provide the final dollars needed to renovate the Harryet Snyder Science Center at Shelby High School. Granted from the Mary S. Wilsdon Fund.
Shelby YMCA Community Center received a grant of $30,000 as last dollars to purchase and install dehumidification and ultraviolet systems for the swimming pool. Granted from the James H. Hoffman Fund and the David N. and Miriam G. Feiser Fund.
Hospice of North Central Ohio received a grant of $5,000 to assist individuals and families facing short-term, unexpected financial expenses associated with cancer. Granted from the Ralph C. Lutz Fund.
Independent Living Center received a grant of $7,000 to provide emergency assistance to help keep people in their own homes and living independently. Granted from the Pauline S. Treisch Fund and the Heloise H. Tappan Estate Fund.
Mansfield Memorial Homes for Homemaker Home Health Program, received a grant of $19,000 to pay for home health services that include personal care, light housekeeping, and limited errand-runs to assist the elderly. Granted from the Ralph C. Lutz Fund.
Mansfield Memorial Homes for Rotary Adult Daycare, received a grant of $12,000 to provide activities and socialization for the elderly who may need assistance and can no longer remain alone. Granted from the Ralph C. Lutz Fund.
Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center received a grant of $7,500 to provide horse therapy Ridership Scholarships for children with physical disabilities. Granted from the Ralph C. Lutz Fund.
The Salvation Army received a grant of $20,000 to provide emergency rent assistance for their clients. Granted from the Mary Mead Sturges and Robert Sturges Memorial Fund, George W. Blymyer Fund, and the Voegele-Bahl Endowment Fund.
