Astronomy for Youth, “Scopes for Kids” for the purchase of two telescopes specifically designed for youth.
Discovery School, “Environmental Resources: Affects on Civilization Past, Present, Future” for purchase of digital cameras for use in an interdisciplinary unit of study that will track the growth of plants.
Lexington Local Schools Eastern Elementary “Clicking for Tomorrow’s Educational Future” for the purchase of one set of Classroom Performing system (Clickers), an instant data feedback system.
Kids’ Connection of Ohio, Inc., “Empowerment Program: Developing Leadership in Youth” The grant will be used to sponsor 4 at-risk boys to an intensive intervention “camp” to be held at Springmill Intermediate School.
Mansfield City Schools Malabar Middle School “Civil War – Catalyst for a Nation” An end-of-the-year event that will immerse the school, the entire 8th grade class and the community in the study of the Civil War years.
Ohio Bird Sanctuary, “In Harmony with Nature” for the pilot program with Harmony House to “bring nature to the kids at the center.”
The Salvation Army, “Learning Zone – Over Time (LZOT)” The grant will extend the after-school program for 5th and 6th graders at the Dewald Center of the Salvation Army.
Lexington Local Schools Western Elementary “Kindergarten Connections – First Books” for the purchase of books, bags and puppets for a proven successful program that encourages early reading.
